The pilot project was completed in December 2015. We learned many helpful lessons and plan to continue to employ the women through 2016 if funding allows. There are four single mothers who work with us, three per day, ten hours per week. A number of wonderful volunteers serve as mentors and work alongside the women. There are also volunteers who provide child care, enabling the women to concentrate on their work. As we have come to know each other, there is a sense of community. We prepared a variety of greeting cards and tiny gift boxes and gift card holders before participating in a craft fair in December. We also sold our products at a community event. Most of the women participate in our weekly Bible Study led by two pastors and one of the volunteer mentors.
